Batu Caves, Malaysia

Last day and last stop in Malaysia, Batu Caves. It is a limestone hill that has a series of cave and cave temples.

After an hour travel from Genting Highlands down to the city, we fell asleep on the car and looking on the staircase of the Batu Cave after the very few minutes nap was not a good idea at all. We almost back down and decide to take a photo with the Murugan Statue instead. But of course, backing out is never an option to us. We climbed 272 steps just to reached the top, surprisingly it wasn't as tiring as we expected. I guess, psychologically the crowd makes it more hard and tiring to climb up.

On the first series of the cave temple, there are vendors who are selling water and food, which is of course higher than the original price. I was a bit disappointed seeing the cave because there so may plastic bottles, cigarette and other trash around the area. The cleanliness was not well maintained. The entrance is free, but a little environmental fee won't hurt just to maintain the cleanliness of the place.

Another staircase to climbed up to the last cave temple.

Shorts and Mini Skirts are not allowed inside, so we have to rent the Sarong for 10MYR at the Entrance of the Cave but they will just give back only 5MYR as you return the sarong. I wanted to bring home the one I rented for souvenir, but it is not allowed even if  offer to pay for it.

There are a lot of monkeys roaming around the stairs, asking for food and drinks.

The cave is so stunning, but I just hope they don't allow smoking in the area. If only the place had implicated some rules to make it more presentable. Honestly, I am very much impressed with the natural structure of the cave, the statue and the staircase but for the experience, I didn't enjoy it that much because I am very disappointed on how people are so careless with their actions.
