Panay Island: TIbiao, Antique

Talking bout the most relaxing part of my Panay Island Trip, this blog will tell everything..

Antique is very popular for witch crafts, shape shifting monster and other super natural stories. People are stereotyping the place which no one knows if it is real or just a make up stories which started ages ago.

I came to this place once when I was a kid, I didn't enjoy that much because as a kid you are looking for something fun and this place is the typical province style where people are already asleep by 6pm! But during this second visit, I must say that it is the best place out of the five islands that we've been to.

From Malalison Island, we ride a tricyle for 40pesos each going to Tibiao. Unfortunately, there's some rivalry between Malalison and Tibiao tricycle drivers that they can not pass thru to another barrio. So we have to shift another tricycle from Tibiao and have to pay another peso..

Then, from the city proper we have to ride habal-habal (single motorcycle which is part of their main transportation) to go to the top of the mountain resorts where they we can have a relaxing hot kawa bath. The kawa bath cost 150-300 depending on the size of the kawa, but if you will rent a room for only the kawa bath is free. So for the group of 10, and the nipa hut is only around 2000php so we decided to rent a room so we can comfortably change our clothes and place our staff.

It is so relaxing that you can't imagine.. With the breeze of fresh air, the peaceful place and the hot kawa bath.. Nothing I could ask for. I almost fell asleep while on the kawa and I took everything for granted.

Before trying to relaxing hot kawa bath, we went first to Bugtong Bato Falls where we had another trek. But the trekking experience this time is more fun than what we had in Malalison Island.. With this experience, I appreciate falls more than the beach.. The water is so fresh and cold, you could stay there the whole day! :)

The falls has 7 levels, but mostly the tourists can only come up to 3 levels.. (ofcourse that includes us girls)  but our guys has the courage to climb up to the 4th level using a rope!
There's a fee for a tour guide depending on the number of people but it is worth it. He is very knowledgeable of the place and he knows well how to take care of us, he is very caring and hospitable.

I really fell in love with the nature because of this experience. I know Philippines has a lot to offer, but you will never appreciate it that much unless you witness it. :)
