South Cebu: Sumilon Island
Sumilon island is a small island in southeatern tip of Cebu. It is 24hectare island where Bluewater Resort is the only resort you can find there..
So from Oslob, theres a boat ride going to Sumilon Island which takes only 15-20mins. The boat has a schedule starting from 7am with i think 2hrs interval for the next ride.. I suggest to bring your food going to Sumilon Island if you will only stay in the sand bar. But there are some day tour packages in Bluewater Resort which you can avail that comes with water activities and you can dine in their restaurant.
It has a high tide when we went there, so the sand bar is not that visible.. there are seaweeds floating everywhere and the crowd is too much to handle. I guess, we came on the wrong timing or pictures from other travelers could've been deceiving.. but still I cant deny the beauty of the place. The water is still clear despite the floating seaweeds and the sand is fine and white..
We only stayed for 4 or 5 hours i guess, since there's not that much shade in the island.. Also, we didn't enjoy the place that much because of the water is not clean. Maybe if it wasn't high tide it would be better.. we still had fun tho. Charge everything to experience. ☺️
